Rocktop is not for every student. Good. It was never meant to be.

The student who is ready to be treated like an adult. Rocktop’s model is built on trust and personal accountability. Online academics require a level of self-direction that not every student is ready for. We do not chase students down. We build the structure around them and expect them to show up inside of it. If a student needs someone standing over them to get work done, Rocktop is not the right environment — yet.

The student who wants more than a diploma. A diploma tells the world you completed school. Rocktop prepares you for everything that comes after it. Every student — regardless of their academic track, athletic goals, or future plans — participates in our Personal Development Program covering life readiness, character, and personal direction. We are preparing students for life — for independence, for responsibility, for knowing who they are and what they stand for before the world starts demanding answers.

The student who has real goals and needs real structure to reach them. Whether that goal is a college roster, a career path, financial independence, or simply becoming someone they respect — Rocktop exists to close the gap between where a student is and where they are capable of going.

The student who is in transition. Postgraduates preparing for the next level. Students who found traditional school wasn’t working and online school gave them freedom without foundation. Rocktop was built for the in-between — the student who is capable of more and just needs the right environment to prove it.

Rocktop is open to motivated students in grades 6 through 12 and postgraduate students — including domestic students, student-athletes, and students pursuing academics independently. We do not select based on academic perfection or athletic achievement alone. We select based on fit, readiness, and commitment to our Personal Development Program.

Every student who applies goes through a personal application and interview process. If Rocktop is not the right environment we will say so honestly — and we will help point them toward something that is. No student who goes through our process walks away without a direction.

Residential housing is available for juniors, seniors, and postgraduate students only. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, gender, or any protected class.

A note to families: We review every application individually because every student is different. What we are looking for is not a perfect record — it is self-awareness, honest goals, and the maturity to operate inside a structure that asks something real of them every single day.

If that sounds like your student, we want to meet them.

Step 1 — Apply Fill out our application. We review your academic background, where you are right now, and where you are trying to go. Be honest. We are not looking for perfect — we are looking for real.

Step 2 — Interview Every applicant sits down with our team. This is not a formality and it is not an interrogation. It is a conversation. We want to understand you — your goals, your challenges, and whether Rocktop is genuinely the right environment for you.

We expect you to have questions too.

Step 3 — Decision We will be direct with you. If Rocktop is the right fit we move forward together. If it is not we will tell you why — and we will help point you toward something that is.

No student who goes through this process walks away without a direction.

A few things worth knowing before you apply:

Rocktop keeps enrollment small. Seats — especially residential — are limited and filled on a rolling basis.

We do not admit students to fill a roster. We admit students we genuinely believe we can develop. That standard protects everyone including you.

If you are serious, apply now. If you are not sure, apply anyway. That is what the interview is for.

The interview is the most important part of our admissions process. It is where we get past the application and actually meet you.

This is a two-way conversation. We are evaluating whether Rocktop is the right environment for you — and you should be evaluating whether Rocktop is worth your commitment. Come prepared to be honest. Come prepared to ask questions.

What to expect: The interview runs approximately 30 to 45 minutes and is conducted with a member of the Rocktop team. We will go over your academic background, your goals, and what brought you to Rocktop. There are no trick questions. We are simply trying to understand who you are and what you need.

For student-athletes we will also discuss your athletic goals, recruiting timeline, and how our Personal Development Program fits into that picture.

Format: Interviews are available virtually or in person at our New Jersey location. We will confirm the format when scheduling.

Who should be on the call: Students must be present. Parents and guardians are welcome and encouraged to join.

To schedule: Submit your application first. Once reviewed a member of our team will reach out within 5 business days to set up your interview.

Rocktop Academy maintains limited enrollment to ensure a high-quality experience for every student. If the program is at capacity, qualified applicants will be placed on a waitlist and contacted as space becomes available for the following semester.

Rocktop Academy is a nonprofit organization. Every tuition decision we make is guided by one goal — making sure the right student gets in regardless of financial circumstance.

Program Tuition $12,000 per year

This covers full access to Rocktop’s development program, academic oversight, coursework, and student support. Online academic enrollment is coordinated separately through your selected partner school.

Residential Housing (Grades 11–12 & Postgraduate) — Student-athletes only, provided through third-party housing partners | $8,000 per year

The honest reality:

Most Rocktop students do not pay full price. We award scholarships broadly because we believe access to the right environment should not be determined by a family’s financial situation alone.

If the number above gives you pause — keep reading.

Financial Aid & Scholarships

Rocktop offers need-based and merit-based scholarship support to qualifying students. We do not have a rigid formula. We look at each family’s situation individually and work to find a number that makes Rocktop possible.

No family should rule themselves out before having the conversation.

If you are the right fit for Rocktop, we will do everything we can to make it work.

To discuss financial aid: Bring it up in your interview. There is no separate form and no awkward process. It is just part of the conversation.

The Rocktop postgraduate year is a structured year of growth built around the same Personal Development Program that every Rocktop student completes.

Postgraduate students are encouraged to take dual enrollment or college-level coursework to get ahead academically. Students who need to complete or strengthen high school credits can do that as well. Every academic plan is built around where each student is and where they are going.

Students leave with more maturity, more direction, and a clearer sense of who they are and what they are ready for.

Because one more year of development can open doors that weren’t open before — and at Rocktop that year includes more than film sessions and workouts. You leave with a stronger academic record, a sharper game, and a personal foundation most college freshmen spend their entire first year trying to build. The recruiting process is imperfect. Rosters fill. Offers come late. Grades fall short. A Rocktop PG year gives you a complete second cycle to get it right.

Honestly — yes, and you deserve a straight answer. Division I uses a continuous clock. Under the incoming 5-in-5 rule, the clock starts at high school graduation — and it runs continuously from that point forward. A PG year uses year one of your five-year window before you ever set foot on a college campus. You arrive at a D1 program with four years to play four. That is the same practical outcome most athletes have today — but you do give up the potential fifth season. For many athletes that tradeoff is worth it. A year of real development, a better offer, and a stronger starting position matter more than a speculative fifth season most players never reach anyway. But you should go in knowing what the math looks like.

Yes — and this is where it gets significantly better. Division II does not use a continuous clock. Student-athletes have 10 semesters or 15 quarters to complete their eligibility — and the clock only moves when you are enrolled full-time. A PG year at Rocktop happens before you ever enroll at a college. Not a single semester gets counted. You arrive at a D2 program with your full 10 semesters completely untouched. Your athletic scholarship is awarded when you enroll — a PG year before enrollment does not reduce it by a dollar. And because D2 student-athletes stack academic scholarships on top of their athletic aid, a stronger GPA coming out of Rocktop increases your total package. The athletic money stays. The academic money grows.

D3 has no athletic scholarships — which means your academic profile is the only scholarship you have. Roughly 80% of Division III student-athletes receive some form of academic grants or need-based scholarships. Most of that money is reserved for incoming freshmen — not transfers. A Rocktop PG year strengthens your high school transcript and keeps you in the freshman aid pool at D3 schools. The difference between applying as a polished freshman versus a community college transfer can be tens of thousands of dollars over four years. Like D2, the D3 eligibility clock is semester-based — a PG year before enrollment does not touch it.

Most PG programs develop the athlete. Rocktop develops the person. Every student — no exceptions — completes the same Personal Development Program. Financial literacy. Leadership. Time management. Community service. Self-awareness. You leave with more maturity, more direction, and a clearer picture of who you are and what you are ready for. The college coaches who recruit Rocktop students know the difference the moment they meet one. That is not something you can get from extra reps.

Rocktop Academy actively recruits international students and student-athletes. We understand the unique academic, athletic, and personal challenges that come with pursuing an education in a new country — and we built our program to meet students where they are.

We are currently expanding our international enrollment infrastructure and working through the documentation and certification process to serve international students at full capacity. Availability is limited and enrollment is handled individually.

If you are an international student or the family of one, we want to hear from you. Every situation is different and we will work through the options with you directly.
